چکیده

The whole-genome sequences of three strains of Rhizobium gallicum reported here support the concept that the distinct nodulation host ranges displayed by the symbiovars gallicum and phaseoli can be largely explained by different symbiotic plasmids.

Classification of Austrian rhizobia and the Mexican isolate FL27 obtained from Phaseolus vulgaris L. as Rhizobium gallicum.

The phylogenetic positions of four rhizobial strains obtained from nodules of common bean plants (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) grown in an Austrian soil and of the Mexican bean isolate FL27 are described. Analysis of the 16S rRNA genes revealed sequences almost identical to that of the Rhizobium gallicum type strain, R602sp, with a maximum of two nucleotide substitutions. Comparison of the 16S rRNA g...

Complete Genome Sequences of Eight Rhizobium Symbionts Associated with Common Bean (Phaseolus vulgaris)

We present here the high-quality complete genome sequences of eight strains of Rhizobium-nodulating Phaseolus vulgaris Comparative analyses showed that some of them belonged to different genomic and evolutionary lineages with common symbiotic properties. Two novel symbiotic plasmids (pSyms) with P. vulgaris specificity are reported here.

Rhizobium etli and Rhizobium gallicum nodulate common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris) in a traditionally managed milpa plot in Mexico: population genetics and biogeographic implications.

The stability of the genetic structure of rhizobial populations nodulating Phaseolus vulgaris cultivated in a traditionally managed milpa plot in Mexico was studied over three consecutive years. The set of molecular markers analyzed (including partial rrs, glnII, nifH, and nodB sequences), along with host range experiments, placed the isolates examined in Rhizobium etli bv. phaseoli and Rhizobi...

Rhizobium etli and Rhizobium gallicum Nodulate Phaseolus vulgaris in Egyptian Soils and Display Cultivar-Dependent Symbiotic Efficiency

Twelve rhizobial isolates were recovered from nodules of common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris) grown in two different locations of Egyptian soils. The most effective strains for nodule formation and nitrogen fixation were selected. Strain specificity with the bean cultivars Saxa, Canoca and Giza 6 from Germany, Colombia and Egypt were studied. The strains were characterized by amplified rDNA restric...

Rhizobium gallicum sp. nov. and Rhizobium giardinii sp. nov., from Phaseolus vulgaris nodules.

Thirty-one strains of two new genomic species (genomic species 1 and 2) of rhizobia isolated from root nodules of Phaseolus vulgaris and originating from various locations in France were compared with reference strains of rhizobia by performing a numerical analysis of 64 phenotypic features. Each genomic species formed a distinct phenon and was separated from the other rhizobial species. A comp...
